• The 2003 season was almost a repeat of 2002 when you talk about Prisland's on-the-mound performance.  He struck out nearly 40% of all batters he faced and again allowed just over one base-runner per inning.  Prisland did see some differences this year however,  he allowed runs this year and struggled early on with his own batting slump.  Prisland was batting just under .300 through nearly two thirds of the 2003 season until a break-out 3HR performance vs. the Pirates, a game which bumped his average up nearly 70 points.  His batting totals were certainly nothing to scoff at but wasn't the Prisland of 2002.  Prisland received a no-decision as this years All-Star game starter and reached the finals in the home-run derby.
