- After serious ankle injury in '02, Dan bounced back well with
an All-Star caliber season in 2003. He edged his batting
average over the .400 mark and more than doubled his RBI
production from 2002. He saw a new role in his second season
with the frequent absence of the Cacahuete's lead-off hitter,
which moved Dan into this position. He led the league in
walks in 2003 with 36. During mid-season Dan managed what no
other had ever had the chance to do. He hit two grand-slam
homeruns in the same inning. No one had ever managed to hit
2 in a game let alone one inning.
