Roster
Dan
Planton, the captain of this rowdy bunch, has been in this league
since the beginning. He's seen this team through the thick and
thin taking on managerial duties during injury in '02. He's back
and hungry as ever to reclaim the Championship. In '03 Dan was
the 3rd ranked all-star selection. He really upped his game from
2002. You'll typically find Dan fielding at first-base making
spectacular catches and preventing the ball from rolling into the
neighbor's yard.
Andrew
Prisland joined the crew half way through the 2002 season after
being ditched by his former squad. His former team offered nasty
threats of demolition in this league, but the pansies never showed.
Prisland boasted the league's best ERA in back to back seasons, winning percentage, and struck
out an amazing 55 batters in '02 and 60 in '03.
Not only a threat on the mound, but a threat with the bat, Prisland
batted .577 in '02 and opposing pitchers lived in fear of his
long-ball. Prisland also won back to back Gold Gloves in 2002
and 2003.
Aubrey
Kooistra, the Prime-Time-Player as he is often referred to as, led
the league the last two seasons in batting average as well as homeruns.
His closest competition in the long ball was a mere 14 blasts behind
in 2002.
And when I say blasts I mean BLASTS. His homeruns were
always an amazement, the next one outdoing the last. Deeper and
deeper into the weeds fielders had to look for his moon-shot homeruns.
Kooistra holds the longest homerun record, registered at 131 feet.
Aubrey also possesses plenty of skills on the mound. He was
forced into the second position in the rotation after Prisland joined
the squad mid-season in 2002. The Father-Son duo also became a threat when
his dad signed with the team just before playoff time in 2002.
Kooistra holds numerous records, winning back to back batting titles
in '02 and '03 as well as the homerun crown.
Jon
Friedl, The Rat, is one of this leagues best lead-off
hitters. His getting on base ability is challenged by only a
few. Jon is best known for his patient eye, often times taking
two strikes before even thinking of swinging the bat. As a
left-hander, it is difficult for Friedl to hit the long balls, but
that's not his role, and he knows this. Friedl was a huge asset
to the club throughout the past two seasons. His run production
and clutch hitting is astonishing. His pitching ability became a
crucial factor in '03 when they needed it most - during the playoffs.
Shawn
Heinen, although Shawn struggled early on in '02
his bat in the line-up proved vital come playoff time. He boasts
plenty of whiffs, but his numbers improve drastically as seasons
progress. No longer would teams walk batters to get Shawn up to
the plate. They feared the long-ball (more like a squeeker over
the wall) and his on-base ability.

Pete Koczan,
in the off-season before the 2003 season the Cacahuetes aquired Pete
from the Menzer Experience. Pete was a vital part of the
Cacahuetes roster on the weekends when on occassion the roster size
ran short. Pete is a skilled outfielder and possess a knack
for getting on base when he's needed there. Pete wasn't needed
on the mound just yet, but in a pinch we all know Pete has some
skill on the pitching rubber.
